Payroll giving is a very easy way to give money to the Perse. Your donation, either as a regular monthly payment or a one off donation, comes off your salary before you are taxed, so it costs you less. This means that you get immediate tax relief on the value of your donation. This would mean:
- For a standard rate tax payer, a contribution worth £20 per month to the Perse would cost you £15.60 per month
- For a higher rate tax payer, a contribution of £50 per month to the Perse would cost you £30 per month
All you need to do is check with your employer that they offer a Payroll Giving Scheme and then ask them for a payroll giving form to set up the donation(s) to the Perse.
In addition many employers are encouraging payroll giving by matching their employees' donations.
