Old Gym

Modifications to the Old Gym at the Upper
Following on from the improvements to the Hall at the Upper in 2005, work on the Old Gym was carried out over summer 2006 bringing the floor level down to the level of the Hall. (Photo 8)
Extending the climbing wall at the Upper
The climbing wall was extended over summer 2006. These additional facilities have enhanced the technique, stamina and enjoyment of pupils of all abilities.
Enhancing the side entrance and courtyard at the Pelican
The side entrance and courtyard at the Pelican was transformed in 2006. Local artist and teacher, Jane Bower, visited the school to oversee the decoration of one of the building walls with a large permanent outdoor piece of artwork. (photo 9)
2005

Data Projectors
Modifications to the Hall at the Upper
The well in the centre of the Hall was filled in, the floor resurfaced, additional lighting fitted and adjustable window blinds were installed. These changes have greatly enhanced the versatility of the Hall as a venue, especially for drama productions and music performances.
Additional data projectors and SMART boards at the Prep
A total of 8 classrooms were equipped with data projectors and SMART boards.
2004
- Second Squash Court completed at the Upper
- Five data projectors for the Upper
- Ten laptop computers, all wirelessly networked with internet capability for the Pelican
- Equipment for the new Prep Classroom for the teaching of French, PSHE and some Drama lessons
2003
- Provision of a Quiet Garden, a Japanese Garden and an activity playground area within the Pelican grounds
- Music equipment for the new Upper Music School opened in September 2003
- Ten data projectors for the Upper
- Interactive whiteboard, 24 computers and digital projector for the Prep
